It seems these days that there is someone around every corning trying to shark you out of your hard-earned cash. The biggest concern for shoppers using an on-line payment system is : “Is it safe” ? We hear about hackers every day so its only natural that one is cautious. Who can one trust and what should one look out for?
When we set up shop over 3 years ago, we looked into this very carefully and initially only used an EFT payment option. We quickly realised that this was not practical for large-ticket items so investigated other options where credit cards could also be used. We were very careful to select a payment gateway with a good track record, excellent safety measures and with lots of personal recommendations.
That’s how we came to choose Payfast. Here’s an excerpt from their website : www.payfast.co.za
“PayFast is a payments processing service for South Africans and South African websites. We enable easy, secure and instant transfer of money between online buyers and sellers.
We allow sellers to accept payments from buyers in a variety of ways. We process credit cards (Visa and MasterCard), Instant EFT (bank transfers to any of SA’s four biggest banks that get instantly verified) and Ukash. PayFast is committed to keeping you and your information secure. We have a multitude of checks in place to protect both buyers and sellers from fraudulent transactions. 3D Secure is an extra layer of security in using your credit card for online transactions. For online transactions over R1000 you’ll be asked to enter your 3D Secure password (different from the PIN), which is called Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode by the respective credit card companies. ”
We can also receive payments from overseas, as long as purchases are made using a Visa or Mastercard.
Every customer who has used Payfast via our on-line shop has commented on how easy it was to use and also safe.
We hope this blog goes some way into assuring you that when you shop on our site you are protected. Please do read through Pay fasts website for any further information.
